One of those days...

Today I woke up around 8am the sun was leaking into my room through my crappy shades, I laid there for a few minutes letting the fog fade...got up and made coffee and a kale/fruit smoothie, drank my coffee and read for a bit while listening to Paul Simon, then threw on my running gear and dialed up the podcast 'dirtbag diaries' and headed out down to isles around the north end, dipped over to cedar, the air was cold the sun bright and warm when I was out of the shade, very little wind just perfect. I passed a professional photo shoot on the ice in the middle of cedar lake, hopped the railroad tracks to run in the snow around brownie lake headed west past the JCC and then got back on the cedar lake commuter trail to head into the city. Podcast over at this point switched to railroad earth, rolled down the trail in a state of empty minded bliss towards downtown. Crossed under 394 towards the sculpture garden, turned around and headed back towards hidden beach. Realizing as I was running how peaceful I felt not a runners high but a sense that I could run forever, I couldn't help smiling and felt like I was floating...mind clear, body strong, stress gone, It felt (and I know this is corny as hell) spiritual in a sense. Negative thoughts floated into my mind only to be whisked away quickly, I made it back to the greenway and turned towards home sun now warm upon my face even hot under my winter hat. Legs pumping like pistons but not feeling like they were working everything in sync. Made it back home having run over 11.5miles and loved every minute of it... Gotta head to work in an hour so glad I had an opportunity to take advantage of my morning.
